About Our10.org

Our10.org was founded on September 16th, 2011 in response to heavy flooding damage caused by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in North Eastern PA. It is our hope that disaster survivors and those not affected will be able to better connect with each other to address the needs of survivors in starting the process of rebuilding their lives.

Due to issues regarding storage of larger items, many relief efforts have a difficult time getting items such as couches, washers/dryers, and appliances to those affected. We hope that our website, coupled with the generosity of locals and needs of affected survivors, will assist in helping those in need to turn their damaged houses back into homes.

The Our10.org concept was headed by Michael Cahill, a graphic designer and social media marketer, and Chris Mincarelli, a software engineer. The website was created in response to September 2011 flooding from Hurricane Irene. The two came up with the concept and decided that creating Our10.org was the way to make the most impact on local relief efforts in their home-town. They hope that current tornado relief efforts will be able to use Our10.org to help those affected start over.
